If everyone is drooling over GTA 6 as if it was the coming of the messiah, then why blame corporations for axing games that don’t make money.

The majority of people are after what newest shiniest thing everyone else are talking about. And most Indy games don’t make a profit or can barely recoup the expanses and pay the bills. Support the indies or stop pearl clutching

Like the title says. I find browsing piefed’s frontpage which defaults to “hot” ranking is far greater than lemmy’s “scaled” ranking.

on scaled as it is now most post are very new and have no engagement and are of no quality, on the instance I am, the first page is full of bot mirrored content the with 0 engagement and that is of no general interest, it is almost the same as turning the ranking to “new”

on piefed’s homepage the content is still fresh, of general interest and already engaged with and bot posts don’t filter through

My proposition is to take piefed’s “hot” ranking algorithm and use it for lemmy’s “scaled” ranking.

Oh please! you only need 3 disenfranchised users to write such article. 99% of people just talk and never walk the walk.

You know how many millions of people are using discords daily. Some servers have millions of subscribers and many have hundreds of thousands, where do you think those people will migrate to.

Discord will be just fine! I know people who spend all their free time on it.

Right! mostly Americans and our rich westener friends. propably contributing 100 times more than a fella from Zimbabwe does.

Basically Most videos don’t load on first try for me on Freetube. so I have to go back and forth to reload the video hoping this time it will load? they have removed the reload button, and the team are just closing issues on GitHub that demand reinstating the reload button. Plus comments have stopping loading as well.

Invidious doesn’t work half of the times. and piped is dead.

What do you recommend using on desktop. or is paying for youtube Red the only option left?

Weird how they are good at digging up the past relationship between the matrix team prior donators with the mosad. but failed to mention not even once that matrix’s biggest advantage is its federated nature.

So imagine you have a selfhosted matrix server and you want to invite a friend over for a chat but this friend already has an account at his other friend’s server. in Matrix he doesn’t have to make an account on every server their interlocutor is in, he just sends his messages, like its done over email, or here on lemmy (fediverse). this is an advantage other software like fluxer of stoat don’t have. and I doubt they will able to add it anytime soon, as the work needed is probably huge and would need years of work to make a proper secure e2e federate messaging solution.
