Like the title says. I find browsing piefed’s frontpage which defaults to “hot” ranking is far greater than lemmy’s “scaled” ranking.
on scaled as it is now most post are very new and have no engagement and are of no quality, on the instance I am, the first page is full of bot mirrored content the with 0 engagement and that is of no general interest, it is almost the same as turning the ranking to “new”
on piefed’s homepage the content is still fresh, of general interest and already engaged with and bot posts don’t filter through
My proposition is to take piefed’s “hot” ranking algorithm and use it for lemmy’s “scaled” ranking.
