This is what the GPL was meant to fight against. Having boxes running software that is still under the control of the manufacturer.
Instead people complained that it was hard to use the code at work. YES. THAT’S THE POINT.

My point was that they fabricated a pretense to avoid needing one, just as you said. You’re making the same fucking point.
Did you stop reading at that point?
Not a lawful authority.
He was flight side at the airport. So either:
It is how it works inside the united states. It’s just they claim that because he was on the flight side of the airport, he wasn’t inside the US.
Oh, because they are outside US borders they claim not to need a warrant, but that doesn’t stop them using US law to prosecute him though.

They’re obviously gifted engineers there, but…
They choose to work for him. I don’t like the idea of people getting stinking rich off that life choice.

If they fire him, it’s got a chance.
They’ve squandered their lead on not delivering stupid tech, whilst ignoring the cars. If they got a CEO that refocused on the cars I think there’s still something there.
Everything to do with him is turning to shit though.

Not SpaceX so far. Down to half it’s high point. It’s only been a public stock 6(?) weeks. Seems to be averaging a few dollars negative each day with no apparent floor.
Most of these “trapped” people stop searching for a job.
When you’re in a “need a job” situation, of course you take anything you can. If you end up at Oracle you don’t stop looking. You take their money until you find something better.
I think this layout is 100% about S&P downgrading Oracle’s credit rating to one step above junk. They’re on the hook for the WB acquisition and the data centre build out for OpenAI, both of which look hugely negative. Wisconsin (data centre location) just sent the a bill for $7B because they don’t trust oracle to pay the future costs to the state the development would incur.
With no credit rating, and not much liquid cash all they can do is cut costs. Hence layoff.
It’s not shitty enough to completely leave your ethics at the door. You might need to take a little less pay, or work on something less interesting (although we’re talking about Oracle here).
Somebody who landed a job at Oracle had options. That is until today. Now they have 21,000 other people to compete with.
It’s the people somewhere like Nvidia I have some empathy for. They thought they were building gaming tech and they’ve ended up building the apocalypse.

They’ve used LPCAMM on the Framework 13 Pro. I did wonder if they were going to update the Desktop to do the same.
They decide. It’s their platform.

Haematoma Hitler?

AI is taking all the oxygen out of the room for anything else to survive right now. It has to die so that what remains can live. There is zero investment available for anything else.
A lot of people don’t realise SKG is a foothold in exactly that fight. If you establish precedent on something as “frivolous” as video games you can use it on much higher value thing too.
