The stock is hovering at around $324 at the time of writing, down over 15 percent over the last five days and about 28 percent year to date.

Every now and then there’s a news about these corporations crashing but after a week they are all back at their all time high. This sort of news doesn’t seem to achieve nothing but give these corporation visibility and keep better news at bay.

Not SpaceX so far. Down to half it’s high point. It’s only been a public stock 6(?) weeks. Seems to be averaging a few dollars negative each day with no apparent floor.

With reputation of Musk, who was recorded tripping in White House like a crack head, the company is certainly will not have any credibility or allocation in my portfolio because I would presume that their financial reporting is thoroughly cooked.

There are a couple local teslas with the “I bought it before I knew how awful he is” stickers and like, okay, I can understand how that might happen. Still gonna judge you until there’s some evidence you don’t suck, but I’m willing to be forgiving on that one.
… However there’s also a local cybertruck with that sticker, and buddy no nobody’s buying it, stop trying to lie your way out of the consequences for your actions it just makes you look even worse. FWIW I’ve seen people throw rocks at the truck twice, so there’s some hope for the future.

Which is absolute bullshit fucking lies.
Cause hes been a piece of shit his entire fucking life. He’s been a piece of shit since Paypal (Which was notorious for stealing peoples money when he was still part of it, hell…probably still is today). The whole “I bought it before I knew how awful he was” bullshit is the equivalent of nazi’s ripping off their swastikas, and when confronted saying they knew nothing but what they’ve heard is awful and terrible.
- JcbAzPx@lemmy.worldEnglish7 hours
He had good PR for quite a while. Yes, he’s always been who he is, but the general public never had that information until recently. There are absolutely people who bought Teslas early on that didn’t know.
A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.worldEnglish
5 hoursBullshit.
The general public always had that information. Its why I’ve personally hated him since the fucking 90s. Since fucking paypal he was known as a cunt. Same with Peter Thiel.
People just put blinders on because they got big boners over electric cars and martian habitats. Cause thats the real issue here. Its not that people didnt know, Its that people willfully ignored, as they always do, because they wanted their neat shinies. Unfortunately for them, Musks miserable, worthless, cunt behavior continued to grow and get worse until they couldnt maintain their willful ignorance… The same willful ignorance that they now try to hide behind to pretend they didnt know what he was, to justify giving him the money to become what he is.
If you didnt know what a piece of shit he was, its because you averted your eyes, because the information has always fucking been there, willfully ignored, but its fucking been there.
- ShotDonkey@lemmy.worldEnglish1 day
I know a few very decent people who have bought like 6-7 years back. Especially back then this was just (at first sight, they were paying later when services came…) the best electric car out there. This has changed (BYD etc), and I don’t want to get into the general “cars suck” discussion here. Not my poimt. All I wanna say is that I in no way judge per se anybody driving an “old” model S. Not every average customer did the research and maybe it was a bit more known to the general public in the US than in the rest of the world what a douchebag Elon was let’s say pre 2020. All the newer/Tesla versions and their buyers? They can go fuck themselves because no excuse after DOGE any more. You’re directly supporting fascism. Everybody knows today.
- NewSocialWhoDis@lemmy.zipEnglish7 hours
What do you think about folks buying them second-hand? Some friends of ours are fairly liberal and dislike Musk, but they wanted an EV and couldn’t afford a new one. So they bought a used Tesla. As a liberal, I think the environment is my top issue… So I just shrugged. We can’t fix humanity’s bullshit while society is collapsing due to worsening climate disasters. It can be hard to get people to focus on something so esoteric though when people are struggling with more immediate needs, so I get the opposing view that it’s lower priority even if I disagree.
- JcbAzPx@lemmy.worldEnglish7 hours
Second hand is risky now. They aren’t putting money in his pocket, which is good, but they’ll still feel the fallout of his actions the same as his sycophants.
- NewSocialWhoDis@lemmy.zipEnglish6 hours
By “feel the fallout”, do you mean they won’t be able to buy replacement parts when the company goes under/ there will be a ton of maintenance due to poor product quality? Or do you mean the blowback from other liberals/ progressives? If the former, I can’t help but agree. If the latter, I guess that’s what I’m trying to take issue with/ head-off.

I predicted this after his reputation fully tanked when he went full MAGA/ DOGE. Every earnings report is going to depress the stock price more and more, until the floor just falls out, and it collapses.
Tesla is NEVER coming back. It will be bankrupt in 3 years.
- wewbull@feddit.ukEnglish7 hours
If they fire him, it’s got a chance.
They’ve squandered their lead on not delivering stupid tech, whilst ignoring the cars. If they got a CEO that refocused on the cars I think there’s still something there.
Everything to do with him is turning to shit though.

1 dayPeople said the same after he did the nazi salute. You guys don’t learn.
- BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.todayEnglish12 hours
What are you talking about? Tesla has been on a steady downward slide ever since Musk started getting froggy. Things don’t happen overnight, y’know? It takes time, and none of the time between then and now has been good for Tesla, and it ain’t gonna get good. Tesla is a dead man walking.
- Karjalan@lemmy.worldEnglish1 day
The nazi salute is the same time they’re talking about though…
And the stock is starting to tank, because the earnings are shit, but they’ve been way below it’s valuation for ages
1984@lemmy.todayEnglish
19 hoursTesla is a hype stock and is based on hopes and dreams. Maybe it will get there but probably not. If Elon gets sick or quits, the entire company doesn’t have a chance.
I would say there is a very big chance of that happening in the next few years.
The next big wave is probably robotics and tesla could have a chance there though to once again rise. But many other tech companies want the same market.
- JcbAzPx@lemmy.worldEnglish6 hours
Elon made himself toxic. If they need him to survive, they’re already dead.

- NιƙƙιDιɱҽʂ@lemmy.worldEnglish1 day
People don’t even read. They have record sales right now, the issue isn’t that people aren’t buying their cars.
The reason for the tank is because of how much money Tesla is spending on expansion; robotaxi rollout, data centers, and Optimus are sucking up short term funds in seeking out long term profits. Investors and the stock market hate this, but it’s nothing more than a temporary blip.
1984@lemmy.todayEnglish
19 hoursIt’s the same reason why other tech companies are falling too, like alphabet. The giant spending on AI surprised the market, which is strange, since it hasn’t been a secret. But the stock market is always over-reacting, which is why it’s easy to make money long term.
People without experience get scared and sell their stocks, until they get the needed experience to either sell and buy something on the way up, or don’t sell and wait it out.
- eestileib@sh.itjust.worksEnglish1 day
Right but those are all speculative, and unlikely to ever turn a profit. Optimus is a charade.
- NιƙƙιDιɱҽʂ@lemmy.worldEnglish1 day
If those ventures fail, they cut their losses and fall back on their cars which are doing wildly well and it’s back to business as usual. They have like 1.5 million active FSD users, nearly half of which are paying a monthly $99. They just added 200,000 more this quarter alone.
Don’t get me wrong, fuck Tesla, I wish to see Elon destitute and miserable. But it’s just not realistic, in my opinion.
- Folstar@lemmus.orgEnglish1 day
In two weeks when SPCX employees can sell, please let them cash out and resign as hard as possible. They’re reasonable intelligent people who know the promises are science fantasy, so this is a plausible scenario. Then, as investors lose faith, Tesla enters true freefall right as fElon tries to leverage his shares to float SPCX. Let this Icarus of Grift come spiraling down so we never have to hear about him or his cultists again.
- wewbull@feddit.ukEnglish7 hours

They choose to work for him. I don’t like the idea of people getting stinking rich off that life choice.

Looking at short term with stocks is never the right thing to do. Stocks go up and down every day.
You should always look at 1Y and 5Y and as we see for Tesla, that’s … oh.

We are all in a bubble. Social media algorithms puts everyone to a certain narrative based on one’s interests and miss the bigger picture. I spoke to a guy who seems to be right leaning, kinda believes in outdated preconceptions such as men are naturally inclined to be spreading his seeds and cited billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. I told him most of Elon Musk’s children are IVF-conceived.
- 1 hour
He was taken aback and hasn’t said anything. A lot of people would not have heard of things that are unequivocally bad about billionaires because social media algorithms glaze them for the masses, and opt out the billionaires’ assault on social progress and democracy.
- chilicheeselies@lemmy.worldEnglish1 day
I’m convinced half of them just aren’t paying attention. You would be surprised how easy it is to just… Not know what is going on.
