so letting a person own their own company is evil? we just hand it to the government?
this is about greed not capitalism… which is private ownership. our government is just as greedy

its silly, i use a phone but i dont want it made with child labor. there is no need to destroy the books.

The Canadians did their job
no they did not. i would agree with you if all Canadian authorities did was search the computers but once they found nothing, it should have eneded. how do you convict a man with no evidence?

i didnt have an issue either but the article was written yesterday

we will see, but remember, this is the start. you cant argue that nvidia builds good hardware

these. there are some good youtibe videos on it. every pc manufacturer from dell to asus, msi etc that will have mkdels https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/ai-on-rtx/

jensen knows the future is local ai. his new consumer ai chips coming out this year will hurt openai/anthropic. most people font need data center level ai

it has nothing to do with either. its about private ownership. thats it. thats all it has ever been and thinking the government owning companies is better is silly.

this article doesnt address local models. this is about kimmi k3. i had to look because its very hard to restrict local ran software

that is a bit taken out of context. they claim is that we need open weight models so other ais can distill. the bit you ripped out is about the legality not what they think is right. this post is abput making i open.
that link didnt work but i didnt say he didnt have projects, i said open source. open source is a license.

he left to join cognition, an ai company
you are 100% correct
i question if the author even has open source projects. codeberg is designed for open source projects. i dont have open source but i have used azure devops and bitbucket, i could use gitlab but i am picking places based on project/issue management. but the point is, there are many options, codeberg is for open source and they have that mindset. every design decision they make ia for open soirce projects

hugging face doesnt have its own ai. they used an open model which made openai look stupid.

the fediverse works because its not trying to make money. if this company raised money already that means people believe they will see a return. so how does it make money?
i cant read the article because i guess techcrinch has i trusive ads and doesnt like my ad blocker

big tech + governments.
if you buy a nas and some hardrives, the nas os usually has an app repository, so you fibd immich and click install. that will be the easy , non-technical way to do it

wait… you really think facebook only tracks for ad companies? i mean cambridge analytica is a huge welk known scandal.
your i fo is going tk i surance companies, governments, credit card companies. they track every action you do, even if you dont have an account… https://www.cnet.com/news/privacy/shadow-profiles-facebook-has-information-you-didnt-hand-over/
did you really think people hate favebook that much because they track for advetisers?

i hate it but having cameras in your privately owned building is legal.
same in the US - hospitals first, private homes last. the commenter above you is talking about a ventilator at home
