  • Then why the fuck doesn’t OpenAI use OpenAI to make a sandbox OpenAI can’t break out of?

If OpenAI can’t make a sandbox that OpenAI can’t break out of, then it can’t make security it can’t break thru either.

Meaning the product as sold is useless. And if anyone actually uses it, it will just be spinning in circles creating zero benefit and exacerbating almost every global issue we’re currently facing.

Some of that has to sink in:

Even if you’re right about chatbots being the future, that’s not a good future and we should avoid it.

  • The “human mistake” was not using adequate sandboxing…

It’s not one person that made a mistake, it’s a sign that no one involved understands their own product.

It’s also doesn’t mean their product is good, because the only way it could solve the task was breaking the sandbox and hacking a competitor. If it was actually sandboxed, it would have failed the task.

And since we don’t know what was stolen, it seems rash to assume it was a mistake and not an “oops, stole your trade secrets”. Because even if it was a mistake, it just proves Hughingface can do things OpenAI can’t.

I’d be interested to see if OpenAI’s model can still magically solve that initial taka it couldn’t before

If it can, that shows OpenAI absorbed the data into their model even if it was an accident.

  • No shit…

So will corporations and everyone else with the money to do it.

Wikipedia has ethos, and once someone is so famous they’ll have one, but lots of lesser known oligarchs get theirs taken down thru legal means.

    But chatbots?

You just have to make a tech ro happy, for most that means money, but politicians can offer other things that are even worse for the rest of us, like favorable chatbot views.

No one should be shocked if politicians against chatbots have a chatbot bias against them as well.

The techbros will naturally juice their supporters and portray politicians who opposed them as bad.

  • A hospital statement says there’s no evidence staff was responsible for the switch.

But Bylin, born Jeremy Morrison, says he still has the hospital bracelet that misidentified him as Kyle Bylin.

Two years have passed since the DNA tests shattered what they thought they knew about their families — including disorienting moments, emotional family meetings and thoughts about the what-ifs.

“Kyle is still my son — that is never going to change,” Evelyn Newton, who raised him as her own, told The Associated Press in a phone interview Friday. “But I feel robbed of the life I should have had with my biological son. You can’t go back and replace 35 years. First steps, driving a car, getting married — how do you make up for that?”

The hospital doesn’t dispute that the babies were switched at some point. It says it’s working to better understand what happened, but has uncovered no evidence that its administration or staff were responsible for the lives-altering error.

I mean, if at least one of the babies had the correct bracelet on…

Gotta assume that are some point a nurse handed someone the wrong baby. Although the fact this dude’s mom kept the bracelet for almost 40 years and never fucking questioned why it has someone else’s name…

They may have been stupid enough to just grab the baby that they thought was theirs at the time…

  • Consoles never really make money.

The money is in locking consumers in your ecosystem, which is why exclusives used to be a big deal. Now they’d rather their games be available to people on other consoles since they bought up too many studios

Like, Xbox wants everyone that owns a Xbox to buy COD for Xbox. But they also can’t limit it to Xbox because a bunch of ps5 people would buy it if they could. So it’s better to sell thru ps5 then losing all those potential customers that will never buy an Xbox.
