Conceptually it’s probably general enough to occur over and over independently, but what an odd throughline in the zeitgeist

House of leaves was the first time I ever even considered a book could be like that. Kinda like watching Memento for the first time, or a Kubrick film or something. It’s just on another level of crafting a narrative at every level.
I thought for sure it had to be one of a kind, but it makes sense there’s a rabbit hole of a genre to go down and that it leads to solo ttrpg territory lol

I freakin love the show. Fiona Dourif is amazing

Yooo is that where the names of all the Secret Life of XYZ things come from?
Pets, Walter Mitty, the American teenager, hell even the suite life of Zack and Cody?
Maybe it was already a general phrase before then?

Hmm, this slope is feeling slippery all of a sudden

Careful now

I’m no biologist but it’s weird this doesn’t happen with cats. Stray/feral cats will be popping out kittens of every variety

Anything not straight-up-and-down always messes with me so bad. There’s an extra hellish sweet spot around 45° and facing away from you that melts my brain as it approaches
Edit: also wtf, for me the post below this one is about screws lol

Then there’s the third thing where you say “you’re gonna turn left at the light” and I say “ok, got it… Wait, did you say right?”

Just tried vintage story for the first time last week. I have like 15 20 hours in 2 or 3 sittings.
4-day edit: fucking hell, make that 30 hours in 5-6 sittings. Stay tuned for 6-7
What’s different to me is it’s feminism not femalism, in that feminine doesn’t tend to mean women specifically. I would actually argue it’s mostly used as a modifier of explicit non-women, and is, in a roundabout way, directly about men and anything unassociated with women as well.
As if to say “this isn’t about women, it’s about the opposition to non-manliness that exists in the world”.
Like a white person is not black, but a man can be feminine. That’s not to say black issues aren’t pertinent to white people in a similar way (if one of us is not free, none are free, nonblack people demeaned for cultural blackness, etc), but it’s an identity that can be wholely intrinsic to a man.
Oh, and another point you bring up I think is interesting is the distinction between holding the belief and directly or strongly acting on it, and should we consider a believer or passive actor as non-ideological? I think that comes down to a No True Scotsman sort of mindset.
Kind of rambling and pedantic, but I like to think about the little details.
Edit: Actually, the more I think about it, the more it kind of is the same as BLM, and I think even just holding the belief is important.

I dunno, if we have AI and a 4 day work week, we’ll be at like negative efficiency or something /s
We could’ve done it before AI though
Question: if you spin fast enough, will everything redshift around you?
I mean sure, velocity is still normal relative to the photons traveling perpendicular but what if you, like, look to the side?
Hmm that must be the same medullary as medullary rays in wood!

Tarn looks like the kind of guy to already have ai psychosis for 20 years, but really it was The Long Wait
Might actually be a sick name if we ever get a paper-thin origami phone
