Anything that is gender-neutral, just to cover the bases in the future

For many people, the cons outweigh the pros, and therefore they can’t even consider them as pros at all.

Several legal, environmental and social reasons I can tell

That reminds me, there are several major fighting games that don’t work at all on Linux because of anti-cheat, right? Dragon Ball FighterZ and Marvel Tōkon, from what I remember

Great to see an old franchise revived, a shame it’s under the wing of Electronic freakin’ Arts.

Never had any, I’m probably for the best given the many problems of society

It’s the major social platforms pushing people to self-censor, mostly. It’s a well-known phenomenon called “algospeak”, where modifications to the language intended to bypass social network censorship end up seeping into in-person interactions, such as the verb “to unalive”

I use Peertube as a viewer, not as a creator. It’s a vicious cycle: too few people mirror their channels on the Fediverse, which means too few people follow the channels that do appear there, which makes other creators wary of bothering with Peertube. Add to that the cost of hosting large videos in the long term, and the options become scarce for novices, as most instances need to be invite-only and with limited storage per user.

Yet to find them, unfortunately.

Why? Because an extra app on my phone means extra battery usage, basically.

No joke, I use my self-hosted Friendica instance as a PWA and browse Lemmy/PieFed threads from there. I even get notifications for new topics via Firefox.

If anything, I expect some streamers to use a capture card and pipe that to Lossless Scaling. It’s what I do with my Switch (2) sometimes

Uncapped frame rate would be the dream

GTA 6 will probably be slightly playable by the time it releases, LOL

The ozone layer hole. Managed to barely dodge that one, just to have fossil fuels eat all the climate benefits that brought us.

Not directly, but if you configure them via Home Assistant, you can download the camera footage (depending on the brand, I use Tapo) and then sync that to your server of choice via FTP or WebDAV.

MacGyver with a Green Lantern ring would get inducted in the Corps faster than you could recite the oath

Lemmy added the option to natively cross-post to multiple communities for a good reason - sometimes a topic is relevant to multiple communities, sometimes multiple servers have a similar community. I don’t mind it much, as long as the client can filter things out.

Also, before I forget: peak opening theme, nailed the “action/mystery” vibes

In my country, MacGyver became the synonym par excellence of crafty bricolage/DIY, so, at least there was a durable cultural impact.
