Get the batteries out and wipe the electronics with a soft towel soaked with a little vinegar to neutralize the corrosion. Then a damp towel with just water to get the vinegar up. Let it fully dry before putting in new batteries. This happens to batteries that have sat unused for a long time installed. It can also happen if at the end of charge, you pull the batteries out, and put them back in to squeeze a little more use out of the batteries. Do it too many times and there is a leak risk. Cheaper batteries do it more often but the top brands will occasionally leak as well.

With the down modding, dam and I thought reddit was an echo chamber…
I totally agree. I encountered them on playstation as trophies and thought there would be a 3D room you could explore all your trophies, maybe 3 or 4 per game total, finish the game and a few hard sub-bosses or quests. The reality was: walk across the room trophy, the save the game trophy, the pause while going to the bathroom trophy… Turned that shit off quick…
As long as I can turn it off. I don’t get the draw for achievements/trophies.
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysHoly wall of text, batman. It would be hilariously ironic if it’s AI generated, but I am too lazy to check. But to the point: what is the “working class” in modern society?
You must observe and analyses the world and the relationships within it to understand how things change and then adapt to these conditions and changes accordingly.
Capitalism is quite good at that.
That political power in society should be in the hands of the working class, aka the majority of the population.
It is in America and many other western nations. The main problem is life is too easy and no one votes. Where big S socialism has been tried on a large scale, that power disappears quite quickly…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysCan you be specific where you are pointing as I can find all that stuff in countries that were attacked or interfered with by non wealthy liberal democracies…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysAre the capitalists building out wind farms in California, Oklahoma and Texas good or bad? How about all the solar farms in the desert? Is Slate Auto good or bad as it’s partially funded by Bezos? How many data centers is china building? (hint: lots) Your obsession with capitalism seems to ignore the vast variation of human nature…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysWhat you do seem to ignore is that systems beyond capitalism are just as likely to pollute. Per capita pollution may have more to do with poverty than altruism. China is trying real hard to catch up…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysI do find tankies an interesting phenomenon. Deluded individuals not succeeding in modern society? Russian bots trying to crap everyone out? Combination of the two? Hard to say…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysAnd speaking of blindness, ignoring the history of communism is your version of bad faith…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysAnd authoritarianism seems to develop from poorly implemented big S socialism. Humans are quite good at thwarting any system to their own benefit…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysI totally agree. A lot of Lemmy users seem to have a hard on for big S socialism. As a gen X California liberal I hated the guy since before he was president but Ronald Reagan has a banger of a political quote:
The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally – not a 20 percent traitor.
Great advice if you want to get things done rather than generate social media cred…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysSimple question, simple answer. It’s China by a large margin. Also check out their industrial ground pollution, which is bad but nothing compared to the old Soviet Union. Your real answer might be humans are the problem rather than specific governmental/economic systems.
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysRemind me again which country is the largest polluter on the planet and what their government system is?
Climate@slrpnk.net•Liberals Can't Address the Climate Crisis Because It Means Confronting Capitalismbybashibazouk@lemmy.world12 daysReally? Can you point to a democracy that has done much of note that doesn’t have an economic system based on free market capitalism?
NASA spearheaded the tech behind megawatt wind turbines. Bell Laboratories built the first practical silicon photovoltaic cell. England and the US perfected Hydroelectricity.
Unbridled capitalism is the problem. Well regulated and taxed free market capitalism has proven it’s self quite well.
Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What can I add or do to make ramen noodles tasty on a budget?bybashibazouk@lemmy.world
2 monthsGo to an Asian market and buy better Ramen. The good brands have three packets, soup base, flavored oil, and chili…
Though everyone else’s recommendations are much more healthy.
Climate@slrpnk.net•Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprintbybashibazouk@lemmy.world2 monthsOh, it’s definitely with me. Good bikes are a pleasure to ride and get you there faster, handle well and are generally safer. Clunky cruisers and lesser bikes handle poorly, go slow and shift even worse should they have gears. I still ride the 1987 Bridgestone MB-1: Cro-mo steel, suntour, drop bars. It’s old but nothing shitty about it.
I just don’t get societies that embrace the bicycle but ignore the technology and quality that makes them good.
Climate@slrpnk.net•Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprintbybashibazouk@lemmy.world2 monthsBut are they good bikes though? I’ve been to Amsterdam twice, once in the 80’s and again a couple of years ago. I love the bicycle culture but the bikes themselves, not so much. I saw a few decent ones but they were few and far between the heavy looking cruisers most were riding. I was a transportational cyclist in California for a few decades and my last bike was $1100 new in 1987. Would be a few thousand today and I can’t picture riding anything lesser. My standard commute was a little over 11 Miles, so 18 km…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprintbybashibazouk@lemmy.world2 monthsUh…you can take a train from New York to Philadelphia today and it leaves like every 20 minutes. Two a day from New York to Cincinnati, but 19 hours. Car would be half that, airplane a fraction. I think it’s less conspiracy and more convenience…
Climate@slrpnk.net•Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprintbybashibazouk@lemmy.world2 months150 years ago, most cities were a bunch of unconnected small towns surrounding a central smaller city. They slowly grew together into the sprawl we have today.

Alkaline batteries use a base, hence the name. Baking soda would work as you can neutralize a strong base with a weak one. Same with acid…
