I don’t think AI is taking over anything, and I don’t think the billionaires actually believe that either. The doom over AI is a marketing tool to keep their bubble propped up while they find ways to shift their money out and government and retirement funds in.

Climate@slrpnk.net•Scientists stunned by children's lung recovery in ultra low emission zonebyLodespawn@aussie.zoneEnglish2 monthsAnecdotal evidence: I grew up in Australia and I had reasonably severe asthma when I was a kid, when I got older I only got wheezy when I got a cold. Moved to the UK for 8 years and immediately started getting regular asthma attacks after moving over and had to go on a preventer. Lived in London for the three quarters and Guildford for the last quarter. Moved home post COVID and a couple months after arriving home my asthma went back to only being an issue when sick. I’m confident it was pollution related.

Sorry I’m saying I don’t think they have cognitive dissonance, I don’t think they care about the environment and don’t think about it. They think about making more money in the current instance and short term future than the other guys making a lot of money and nothing else matters. Everything is a short term grift to make more money. If they have to think about the environment it’s only because someone is using it to get in the way of the current grift and the issue raised is now a cost of doing business that is eating into the monetary lead they have against the next richest grifter. They will happily ignore those environmental costs if noone makes them think about it. The triple bottom line is two too many bottom lines.
