• Mortal Kombat recently came back and had movies. Now suddenly street fighter does as well. Pretty obvious.

Also I know street fighter isn’t as brutal. That’s why the MK movies are better. Every movie is better if rated R.

We have entered the age of reboots and remakes folks. Get used to regurgitated content you’ve already consumed. It’s not going to get much better from here.

Saw it recently. Very fun dumb movie that knows it’s dumb.

Over the top cool fighting moves that do absolutely nothing to make the moves from the videogames more “realistic”. Catch phrases. The most… I dunno how to describe it… Hollywood “kung fu-y” plot since Kung Fury.

Looks pretty good on the trailer. Angry Videogame Nerd did a first impression video, and it sounds super fun.

I’m not paying to see it because they cast a trump bootlicker as Dan. Guessing I’m not missing much either way.

  • The trailer looked like they’re just trying to capitalize on the Mortal Kombat movies, and I’m pretty sure it’s not even rated R?

    Pass.

What does that even mean? Their both fighting games from the same era. Also Street Fighter is not as much brutal and dark as Mortal Kombat. And you even say yourself its not rated R, so how is it capitalizing on the Mortal Kombat movies??

  • sorry i was busy this week Camcom. I will try to see this soon and actually pay maybe…

Nothing will ever top Van Damm vs Gomez Adams.

I will die on that hill.

  • I’m waiting for Street Fighter 15 “inside the multiverse,” Street Fighter 34 “with the Ninja Turtles,” and Street Fighter 53 “Mario Sunshine edition.”

“but that’s not about PC videogame”

Well, I think together with Valve, in this period Capcom has been the strongest entity the PC gaming industry (as far AAA goes): maybe the PC gaming industry is actually taking all the spot Sony left open?

    • Capcom makes most of its money on PC now according to their report, but I wouldn’t say they fill the space Sony left. They offer vastly different games which at least for me don’t work as replacements.
