19 daysThe one thing that has constantly put me off from playing Outward is the weird janky combat. I have given it multiple serious attempts, but combat is just… so bad.
I hope the sequel improves this, while keeping the multiplayer options. Would be fun to jump into an open world RPG with a friend.

The combat is… Different, for sure, but once you figure out the flow, it’s actually not bad. It just really doesn’t have the same cadence as most other games of similar genre.
That being said, the second one is pretty much more of the same. If you didn’t like the first, you are very unlikely to like the second

19 daysI liked everything in the first but the combat. If they improve that one aspect and keep everything else exactly the same, I’d be happy.
I would hardly call that combat having a “flow”. It was simply bad.

It certainly does have a ‘flow’, it just doesn’t flow the same way most other games do. Its rough and takes a bit to find it, but its buried in there

18 daysIt being rough is literally the counter opposite of having a a flow. So which is it?
- Arcadeep@lemmy.worldEnglish16 days
No, not necessarily. It’s both: the game is rough but once you figure out how the combat works, it becomes much easier and nothing really is as much of a problem as those first few hyenas and bandits were. I’m not sure why you’re getting so upset about this

19 daysIt was flawed and janky but I generally liked the first Outward game. Hopefully this one is good.
