I noticed a while ago that anticommies were especially fond of repeating the tired ‘commulism = starvation’ meme around the same time that there were plenty of advertisements in Imperial America asking readers to feed hungry Yankee children (many of which are still around, of course). Hmm… it’s almost as if the anticommies were trying to distract us from something. Who knows, maybe there is even a small chance that some of it was a government psyop, but meh, there’s no use in donning a tinfoil hat over this, especially since plenty of suckers were undoubtedly willing to do it for free anyway.
Regardless, we have little reason to believe that the Soviets caused famines, and even less reason to believe that these famines were intentional. Indeed, there was even an anticommunist dictator who secretly admitted that ‘[t]he Russian people’ weren’t starving at the start of Operation Barbarossa, and most of the food that the Axis misappropriated from Ukraine came from collectivized farms. In contrast, Axis occupation lead to famines in Greece, Java, Leningrad, Kharkiv, Kiev, the Netherlands, Vietnam, and some of Poland — and don’t even get me started on the numerous famines that capitalist occupation in India, Ireland, and elsewhere either caused or allowed.
Above all, remember that those who tiresomely repeat the ‘commulism = starvation’ dogma are not doing so because they care about innocents suffering. It is status quo apologia that serves to distract everybody from the more numerous and deadlier famines that anticommunists have caused as well as the food insecurity that they are causing now.
