I’m pretty sure Foodlands has switched to a playlist of AI songs in the store I go to in Adelaide. The songs often have some familiarity but are things I haven’t heard before. There are also more remixes sprinkled in that are surely licensed remixes.

I don’t mind shit songs in the grocery store. I just don’t want ai shit songs.

Is this happening elsewhere?

Important Update

Dear Warriors,

The unthinkable has happened. Defqon.1 has been cancelled for the remainder of the weekend. Effective on Friday June 26th, the Holy Grounds will close their gates.

Today, we received the news that the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued a code red warning due to extreme heat for at least the next 24 hours. This is the first time the Netherlands has ever issued a code red warning because of high temperatures. Together with the authorities, we are therefore forced to cancel the remaining days of Defqon.1.

We are absolutely devastated by this development. Tens of thousands of dedicated Weekend Warriors are currently staying on the Camping Grounds, many of whom have travelled far and prepared for this weekend for months. Asking them to return home tomorrow is the worst-case scenario, especially with a fully operational festival and everything in place to welcome them.

This is a blow felt on every level. Not only by our visitors, but also by the artists, crew, creatives and everyone else who has worked tirelessly over the past year to bring this edition to life.

To all Weekend Warriors: we’ve got your back. We understand that you didn’t plan for this, and we will do everything we can to help you get home safely. On Friday, the Camping Grounds and part of the Festival Grounds will remain open, without musical programming but with all essential facilities available. This gives you the time to make arrangements for your journey home on Friday. We’ll be there every step of the way.

For now, we urge you to rest. Spend time with your friends, make a plan, cry on each other’sshoulders if you need to, get a proper night’s sleep, and prepare for the journey tomorrow.

We understand that you have many questions. For everyone involved, both visitors and those at home, we have set up an FAQ below. Please check it if you need more information, and don’t hesitate to contact us on WhatsApp via Q.dance/whatsapp.

We will refund all tickets. More information regarding additional compensation will be available after the weekend.

This is not the journey we imagined, and the reality has barely sunk in. Nevertheless, it is our duty to take care of you. That is our sacred oath.

Forever One Tribe.

It’s time for us to nominate our /c/rage’s Lemmyvision 3 song!

Over the past few weeks, our community has submitted nominations, and we have until 3rd May to pick a winner. Our Lemmyvision representatives @Gorgritch_umie_killa and @zero_gravitas have again delegated our election to an independent agency, the Aussie.zone Eureka Commission (AEC).

Anyone who has recently commented a few times on aussie.zone before today is allowed to vote. (This includes, for example, various Australians on other instances)

This election uses preferential Instant-Runoff Voting[wiki] just like our federal elections. Put simply, this means that if your [1] choice has no chance of election, your vote then moves over to your [2] choice, and so on.

Here are the entries. Please listen to them all before voting:

Here is the ballot template for you to fill in. Copy and paste it as a new reply to this post, and number ALL boxes from 1 to 10 in order of your choice. [1] is your preferred choice, [10] is your least preferred.
