Ah thanks i thought they were talking about the optiplex

How is it $24 ?

They didn’t. There was a type of reset that restores the calculator to factory settings iirc

In class graphing calculators would be good.
Our teachers instead manually wiped our ti-83+ before the exam.
Fortunately for us, we had a program that emulated the system menus, so the teacher could think they were resetting it without actually doing it.
Some people used it to cheat but most of us just didn’t want to lose all our games.

“Get yer politics outta my c/technology” – but everything related to technology is political… this post is a great example.

Has there ever been a corporation or company that welcomed unions? Serious question
Agree except i loved pomplamoose! Their music videos were groundbreaking at least for me.
I like Scary Pockets a lot too.
Maybe he should have stuck to music

Even in the USA today, Trump wouldn’t have won without the anti -democratic electoral college.
That said, it is scary how popular fascist movements can get when capitalist societies get pressured.

Context:
If you work in or around the film industry, there is a decent chance you have used the work of The Numbers this month, whether you realise it or not.
Its hand-researched data is the highest quality, tracking box office grosses, budgets, home video and streaming across more than 78,000 films and 236,000 people. It gets north of eight million visitors a year, and is treated as THE definitive authority by journalists, academics, filmmakers, prediction markets, and even Guinness World Records.

It provides a service of figuring out what the value of spacex really is.
Why that service is allowed to generate so much money for people is bonkers to me.

Huh, interesting. This is something i associate more with millennials

Even in the context that the person couldn’t count easily called the it help desk, they could raise it as an accessibility issue.
And the fun thing is, disability is the one minority group that anybody can join, if something bad happens to them, and making things more accessibile for the disabled usually improves the lives of everyone! Like curb cuts and elevators helping parents with strollers in greater numbers than the wheelchairs they are designed for.

degeneracy is a fun word

Needoh consumption

I don’t know off the top of my head, but I did a search in here the results.
I thibk the ones I had heard of were Tangerine and maybe the Stephen Soderberg ones.

Huh, the thing i remember about Enron was how they colluded with power plant operators to cause blackouts and raise the price of electricity so they could cash out.
Interesting that the debt thing was less memorable.
The mechanics are simple. A company packages the debt for chips, servers, and power into a separate legal entity, often a joint venture, so the cost never flows through its own accounts.
Take Meta’s Hyperion data centre in Louisiana. Meta and Blue Owl Capital both put equity into a separate structure that took on $27 billion in debt. Meta is the sole tenant, yet argues it does not have to record that debt, because it is not the one who must find replacement tenants.
Oracle has $260 billion of future lease commitments that will eventually land on its books. Nvidia carries $119 billion in purchase obligations. Alphabet and Microsoft keep their vehicles off-book too.
I am learning about bookstack, it looks nice!
I don’t have a good system.
I keep a spreadsheet of the different important servers, their ip addresses, and notes in my nextcloud.
In each of my admin home folders, i have an info.txt where I write notes to myself.
Someday I’ll create a network diagram…
How to explain the big words to eleven year olds? I’m not sure i know.
Hormone: chemical messenger that your body uses to influence how you grow, whether you’re hungry or full, or whether you’re about to run or react.
Puberty: how your body changes as you grow from a child into an adult.
Estrogen: a type of hormone everyone has, which women have more. It causes body changes in puberty (???)
Testosterone: a type of hormone everyone has, which men have more. It causes your voice to lower in puberty, body changes, etc. (???)
Endogenous: produced by your own body for its own use?
Exogenous: produced outside of your body, but used by your body?
