Bug Report

Sorry I swear I won’t post again! But thank you for such a good app!

Describe the issue:

When trying to fill a 5th multicommunity, I can only see 4 multicommunities and cant see the 5th one. It seems the scroll is bugging out. This is also an issue when you tap the info icon on the multicommunity feed. You can’t scroll through all of your communities in that multi.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Make 5 or more multis
  2. Try to add a community to one of the last ones you made.
  3. In the add popup window, scroll doesn’t work to see the ones hidden at the bottom of the list.

Device Information

  • App Version: 1.0.479 (479)

  • Platform: android

  • OS Version: CPH2551_16.0.3.505(EX01)

  • Migration: n/a (attempts: 0)

Modified Settings

The following settings have been changed from defaults:

  • defaultRoute: /community?postCommonListingType=Subscribed&hint=Frontpage (default: null)
  • defaultPostSort: Scaled (default: Active)
  • cardType: list (default: card)
  • drawerStates9: [true, true, false, false, true, true, true, true, true] (default: [true, true, true, true, true, true, true, true, true])
  • theme: dark (default: system)
  • imageDomainRewrites: {} (default: {})

Bug Report

Describe the issue: Just wanted to point out that anytime I try to remove a favorite community, in the app, it doesn’t go away. The only way I’ve been able to clear my favorites is by clearing all app data on my OS which is Oxygen OS (I own a One Plus Open).

If this is a known bug, the feel free to delete my post, but I didn’t see anything about this when I searched the community posts.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. On the left toolbar under the favorits category, click the three dots next to community and choose remove from favorites.
  2. It will now disappear.
  3. Back out of the tool bar and refresh your feed. Open up the left toolbar again and the community has returned to your favorites.

I’m curious to get a general pulse on how people here view the rapid evolution of AI, specifically on lemmy. On one side, there’s growing interest in local open-weights models, self-hosted setups, and practical developer/productivity tools. On the other, there seems to be a growing list, I can’t keep track of, that are seen as major concerns. I’m not here to pick sides or be biased in one corner. Im genuinely curious what people have to say about AI in general. And maybe it will help me and other get a better handle on how we perceived it in our ever changing world.

I get it strange because we have TOS comics which are great of course. But I’ve become quite attached to the redesigned Enterprise, the updated interiors and the new faces to our familiar crew. So it would be cool see what we could have been if a show was greenlit. Hell who knows what Paramount will do once SNW ends next year. They didn’t sell off the sets, so there’s always a chance that the new trek showrunner still does it. But IDW would be a good fall back.

  • Yeah I get that people can get defensive when they are overwhelmed by jargon, but thats the beauty of language. We have so many different words that means such complex things. Its what allowed us to keep developing technology based on the layer below it. People need to get over not understanding every single word in a scientist paper, as if it’s an attack on their intelligence.

And hell I know AI gets alot of hate on Lemmy but that shit is very good at helping break down complex scientific papers with the jargon. I work in medical research and the amount of time it’s saved by helping me understand the jargon has been immense.

I saw someone on Reddit wondering why the community was so sure of Trek going dark again with Paramount not doing so well financially. Seeing the response was unfortunate as most people feel that it might be a bad time for Trek. And I guess it makes sense with the Hollywood strikes as well.

But I was curious what Lemmy thought. Maybe im in denial too but I’m curious if you guys think the worry is warranted.
