  • This was an extremely interesting and informative read. I have been fascinated by computer networks and recently started reading about them. I was surprised that I was able to understand almost the entirety of the article despite my limited knowledge of networks.

Are there recommendations for textbooks or resources that explain computer networks in a manner similar to that of this article?

TL;DR: The iconic desert landscapes from the movie belong to Western Sahara which is under Moroccan occupation. The indigenous population, Sahrawis, are marginalised by the Moroccan regime, who arrest natives for filming their own land while giving complete permission and assistance to Western film producers to shoot their scenes.

I highly recommend reading the article as it’s written by one of the locals themselves.

Why YSK: Seeing how The Odyssey has amassed popularity globally, it is important to know how the illegal occupation of the Western Sahara and the suffering of the inhabitants was swept under the rug in order to produce this film, especially since no other major media outlet wishes to cover this topic.

I tried to study a bit from beej.us and I appreciated the style of teaching, but ultimately thought it wasn’t for me as it didn’t go much into depth and focused more on creating C programs. Is there some source from where I can learn in a comprehensive yet easy to understand manner the fundamentals of computer networking, at least to the extent that is relevant for selfhosting?
