Marco Rubio, accusing Iran of attacking ships، said: “We haven’t seen anything like this since World War II and the pirates of the Caribbean.”

U.S. President, on 1 May 2026, boasting about seizing commercial ships and confiscating oil cargoes: “we’re like PIRATES. We’re sort of like PIRATES.”

Perhaps the president won’t be too pleased to learn that his secretary of state has so quickly forgotten his own proud claim of being like pirates.

Stallone claps back at the critics of his daughter’s casting. “First they go, ‘Nepotism is terrible.’ I said, ‘Oh please, you’re not a good parent if you haven’t performed a little nepotism. Then obviously you don’t care about your kids, because they come first,’” Stallone says. “‘Of course it’s nepotism, you idiot. That’s why we’re parents. We want the best for our children. So obviously we let them have every advantage.’”

The proud dad has one nonnegotiable caveat: The kid still has to earn it.

“Can they maintain that level of excellence? That’s out of our hands,” Stallone says. “But if you can open the door, we’ll see if they have the ability to go through it. People will say, ‘She got that job, it’s too easy.’ You’re right. Perhaps it could be. But to maintain that, to be in front of millions of people, you either got it or you don’t.”

Prime Minister Rob Jetten and his fiancé Nicolás Keenan are expecting a baby in the spring of 2027. They are having a child with the help of a surrogate mother, Keenan wrote on social media.

Jetten is the first postwar Dutch prime minister to have a child while in office. In recent decades, Dutch prime ministers have generally already been fathers before taking office. On top of that, Jetten is also the first openly gay prime minister, as well as the first one to have a child with the help of a surrogate mother.

The pregnancy was arranged through “a friendly couple who already have children,” a D66 statement read. Both the egg donor and the surrogate mother are Dutch. The arrangement is not commercial, as both women are Jetten’s and Keenan’s acquaintances “who said they are glad to help the two fathers-to-be realize their wish.”

“Someone very special is on the way. See you in 2027, little one,” Nicolás Keenan wrote on Instagram. “We are incredibly grateful to our egg donor, our surrogate mother Lisa, and both of their families. None of this would have been possible without you.” He repeated the same message in Dutch, Spanish, and English.

“We are incredibly grateful that, thanks to two wonderful women, we now have the chance to make our big dream come true,” PM Jetten said. He added that the surrogate mother and the baby are doing well. “That is, of course, the most important thing right now. We urgently appeal to everyone to respect the privacy of those involved.”

Surrogate mother Lisa also made a statement. “I grew up in a warm and loving home and now have a fantastic family of my own,” she said in the D66 statement. “With the unconditional support of our loved ones, surrogacy feels like a very special way to help make our dear friends’ dream come true.”

Hunter Schafer has undergone bottom surgery, the “Euphoria” star revealed.

“I just had bottom surgery in December, which was amazing, and I love it so much,” Schafer told Elle magazine, referring to the gender-affirming operation that alters a person’s genitals to align with their gender identity.

“For a long time I’ve embraced the gender-expansive part of myself, and I really wanted to try to make that previous body work, because I thought there was something really cool and badass about it,” she said. But, according to Elle, Schafer described “hitting a wall again and again where this theoretical queer utopia didn’t match up with the world she encountered every day, and the way she personally wanted to show up in it.” And so while every trans person is different, a medical transition was the right decision for Schafer.

Schafer described that ability to evolve as the “magical thing about queerness” — that “on an ideological level, it’s about possibility and expansion and growth, and being on that journey and finding yourself.” While she had always viewed her gender identity as more fluid, she has now landed somewhere “flatter,” she described. “I’m a woman. I’m a girl,” she said. Coming to that conclusion required Schafer to wrestle with queerness as a philosophy “versus how it applies and works in real life, in the context of the world that we’re living in.” She said, “I feel like there’s always a tension there.”

Schafer described her recovery from bottom surgery in early 2026, noting that she rented a big apartment and had friends and family visit while she was required to lie flat. “I think my limit was 150 steps per day, which is nothing,” she said of her doctor’s orders.

Schafer, who will next be seen opposite Michelle Yeoh in the Amazon miniseries “Blade Runner 2099,” spoke a couple of years ago about not wanting her identity to overshadow her work, saying she herself had tried to avoid saying the word “trans” during interviews. “It has not just happened naturally by any means. If I let it happen, it would still be giving ‘Transsexual Actress’ before every article ever,” Schafer told GQ in 2024.

“As soon as I say it, it gets blastoff,” she added about when the word “trans” comes up in her interviews. “It took a while to learn that and it also took a while to learn that I don’t want to be [reduced to] that, and I find it ultimately demeaning to me and what I want to do. Especially after high school, I was sick of talking about it. I worked so hard to get to where I am, past these really hard points in my transition, and now I just want to be a girl and finally move on.”

Schafer acknowledged in that interview that “it’s a privilege” to be able to shift focus beyond her gender identity, saying: “It’s been very intentional. I’ve gotten offered tons of trans roles, and I just don’t want to do it. I don’t want to talk about it.”

“I know for a fact that I’m one of the most famous trans people in media right now, and I do feel a sense of responsibility, and maybe a little bit of guilt, for not being more of a spokesperson,” Schafer concluded. “But ultimately, I really do believe that not making it the centerpiece to what I’m doing will allow me to get further. And I think getting further and doing awesome shit, in the interest of ‘the movement,’ will be way more helpful than talking about it all the time.”

Schafer’s first acting rule was Jules in the HBO smash hit “Euphoria,” which made her a celebrity — and a role model for trans people — in her early 20s. Her other roles include “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and the Neon horror movie “Cuckoo.”

Hexbear users tend to like DPRK, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or North Korea. Pyongyang is the capital city of DPRK.

DPRK is heavily sanctioned and censored by the West. There is a lot of misinformation spread about DPRK, sometimes positive, sometimes negative. An example of positive misinformation would be all the twitter accounts making up fake Kim Jong Un quotes.

DPRK is communist and practices Juche.

There are websites hosted in DPRK that are accessible internationally. DPRK owns the .kp TLD. Every website that ends with .kp is hosted in DPRK.

Linking directly to websites hosted in DPRK could demystify the western perspective of DPRK. To combat western narratives, all posts on the comm should contain a link to a .kp website or archive of a .kp website.

The concept of the comm is simple. Visit a DPRK website, find something you like, post the link to the page on hexbear. Optionally screenshot the page or archive it with an archive website.

Hexbear has a China comm, so why not have a DPRK comm?

here’s a current list of DPRK websites. https://archive.is/RT91h

These webpages tend to post new stuff daily, so the comm would never run out of content.

popular culture

For observing and discussion of cultural phenomenon, entertainment, celebrities, internet culture, zeitgeist, etc.

Every newspaper has a culture section. The news comm doesn’t like culture/entertainment articles. The chapo comm doesn’t like stuff outside of the chapo subculture. People want the gossip comm to be closed. The slop comm is meant for screenshots of stupid internet posts.

Pop culture influences the way that people feel, think, and live their lives.

Pop culture would attract people to the hexbear instance.
