There is no “overall best”, just one that works best for you. I like to keep mine on a managed encrypted server so I use Ente Auth. I think Proton has one as well.

Technology@lemmy.world•Nvidia finally reveals what controls devs actually have for DLSS 5, and don't worry folks, there are TWO main sliders to control the AI filterbyartyom@piefed.socialEnglish
17 hoursDLSS 5 is genAI pushed into gaming and genAI in art is terribly problematic anti-humanist process that kills the creative soul of human work
It sounds like we are on the same side of this so I’m not sure why you’re arguing with me. If they give this control to the users instead of the developers, you can use it or not use it at much as you want, instead of having entire games irreversibly ruined by it.

24 hoursThe point is for developers to have control over their own vision.
I suppose consumers shouldn’t have any choice over frame rates, textures, or resolution either, right?
If you want to be running a real time AI generated visual for a “pick your own adventure” document then I don’t think “video game” is the proper term
I don’t want that at all. That’s the entire point.
don’t expect others to serve it for you
I absolutely expect them to serve it for me. That’s literally what I pay them to do.
Technology@beehaw.org•Nintendo says users voluntarily paid higher prices, have no right to tariff refundsbyartyom@piefed.socialEnglish
24 hoursIts the same money. Nintendo didn’t just pocket the money they were paid and ignore the tariffs.
The customers paid the tariff money to Nintendo through increased pricing, who then sent it to the gov. Then the gov returned it back to Nintendo.

1 dayMaybe give those controls to consumers instead?

2 daysNot sure what you mean. Those are both excellent examples of incompetence.

2 daysIs it really great marketing to admit that you’re too incompetent to contain your own AI models? And that your irresponsibility caused serious damage to an open source contributor?
Technology@beehaw.org•Nintendo says users voluntarily paid higher prices, have no right to tariff refundsbyartyom@piefed.socialEnglish
2 daysYeah I don’t think there is a legal precedent in place for this sort of scenario. Ya know, the one where the President unilaterally demands an illegal tariff and the various departments all comply, but then someone tells them the illegal thing is obviously illegal and now they have refund all the tariffs they took.

I do this with my family using Immich. Everyone has their own private library but we also have shared albums for vacations and such.
Definitely decentralization is a good idea, but it also adds a layer of complexity that many are unable to grasp. Signal is always the easiest but I have major concerns about their longevity.
Does it have to be self-hosted? I’ve had tons of problems with Matrix. Many fewer issues with XMPP.
Chatmail is probably the easiest and best bet for reliability. Deltachat is the OG but I like Arcanechat, it’s a fork with more features.
