Sometime ago I had the opportunity to interview and hire 4 interns for our team. We are a very small company and had like 300 applicants. It’s brutal on both sides. I got things to do and deadlines to meet. I can only do so much. So I started replying to of the candidates that didn’t make it. For us it’s very technical and specific what we are looking for, but it’s still hard to say sorry but you didn’t make it. But regardless of what I feel, HR stepped in …two HR people… and they told me to stop sending closure emails. They AI crafted a single reply email and mass mailed it to the remaining people. I think with my heart as if I was the candidate. They think with whatever the fuck makes you think of people as “resources”. It’s probably something to do with not bankrupting the company by bringing the wrong people in and pissing off everyone else.
Some of that is true. One of our candidates turned out to be a nice guy but extremely lazy and entitled. It’s hard to work with someone like that in your small team. Not only do you have to do the hard work that 20 people used to do before the pandemic lay offs but now you also gotta put up with some shit from captain know it all but only after you tech them 39 times what to know and when to know it.
Today I fumbled thru the install of Rayfish and Yggdrasil. Both are awesome, but Rayfish was so much easier to install and use.

Yggdrasil has Android, Windows, Linux, Apple installers.
Rayfish only works on desktop right now, but hopefully soon they will be able to get it on Android.

We were promised a technological future with ways to search for things of interest, find out how to get to places on a map, etc. Instead the government can now track us in our daily lives anywhere and everywhere we go 24/7. That would be great in a world where the government is of the people, by the people and for the people. However in reality they want to find us and send us to el Salvador. WTF!
Until things change, I am not buying a single electronic device. Not an iPad or a TV or an empty-tree player. This is ridiculous. And now we can’t even know anything because all news is coming from the Murdocks and they just killed off NPR and PBS. This is how the bad part of the story starts.
