I can definitely understand that. I think it’s a book that’s more of a “read it at the right time and moment” kind of book. If I remember well, I read it when I had a lot going on in my life and then found comfort in the book. Like I loved the idea of ‘‘hopping from life to life’’ to see which would eventually fit you better and then coming to realize that every life that you could’ve gotten would always have a downside.

Plus, I genuinely love some of the sentences/ quotes of the book, such as:

• “The only way to learn is to live.”
• “Never underestimate the big importance of small things”
• “Sometimes regrets aren’t based on fact at all”

And a bigger one but my most favorite of the book:

• “If you aim to be something you are not, you will always fail. Aim to be you. Aim to look and act and think like you. Aim to be the truest version of you. Embrace that you-ness. Endorse it. Love it. Work hard at it. And don’t give a second thought when people mock it or ridicule it. Most gossip is envy in disguise.”

Never recommend to who? Everyone or just particular people?

I would never recommend to anyone I know in real life;

• Close As Neighbor Doujinshi. Because well, it is sexual. However, the story and some of the characters are actually really well written.

• A book named Submitting to Her. The name should already tell you what it is about, lol. Book is quite well written though.

And as for normal books; Bad Blood Secrets and Lies in Silicon Valley. Because most people in my life would get bored out of their mind due to the jargon being used in the book and they don’t care about financial things as much as I do.

As for in general (like in online communities); I don’t really have anything special to hold back. It is the internet with a certain anonymity.

I’m a bit confused as to why this is related to 1984. I understand banning AI “boyfriends” and “girlfriends” could be seen as a form of censorship, though. But I also think it’s kind of a good thing; some people genuinely believed these AI were their real relationships and might avoid any real relationships.
