Meshcore uses a Repeater & Companion Node setup where as Meshtastic is more peer to peer.

You have my attention… but with Meshcore and a repeater magnet mounted to the roof.
When I built my rackmount NAS and Personal PC, I went with cases from Sliger. Really good build quality but can be a little pricey.
