There is plenty of coal all over the the US. There isn’t demand for it as its power is too expensive.
Per the latest Lazard LCOE, solar + storage, wind (onshore) + storage, and gas combined cycle are all cheaper than coal.
Let’s irreparably destroy what’s left of the prestige wilderness for a commodity nobody needs or wants and the use of which is killing the planet…is America Great again yet?

I wonder if there is more undug coal than there is garbage in landfills? Could it possibly be better for the environment and cheaper to simply burn our garbage rather than burning coal?
