Reddit is a cesspool

Didn’t leave reddit, instagram and facebook because of AI, but because trump threatened to invade my country. The only american platform I still actively use is youtube.
I came here before AI was a thing. I make new accounts every now and then, but I’ve been here for years.

I first migrated when the API price debacle hit, and failed. It just didn’t click with me and my ways.
Then later I tried again thanks to the r/buyeuropean movement. I found my app of choice (Summit) and got a hang of things much better with it.
However I still go check reddit every few days due to a handful of small niche subreddits that don’t exist here. They are luckily small enough to not be full of bots.

AI didn’t cause me to leave any platforms, but I do hide the accounts that just do AI content whenever I find them on YouTube or other social media platforms

The c/Asklemmy AI ridden banner is making the BLOCK COMMUNITY button much sexier.

What migrate? This is the internet. I use reddit and Lemmy. Sometimes even in the same day!

I haven’t used social media for years, as others I came to Lemmy after the Reddit API bullshit

All of them!!! (But mostly Reddit. And it was overbearing mods and auto bans that made me seek refugee status more than AI Slop)

Reddit when they started charging exorbitant prices for API access and killed off the third party app ecosystem.

They have no incentive to improve it for users, the competition is gone. I think that was the primary goal.
