Does it need to be a hardware KVM? or could you use RDP?

16 daysOh, and in the case of the torrent on screen, i just noticed it has no seeders, that would be a problem.

16 daysCould be a VPN issue. I’ve had issues like this that I’ve fixed by changing my exit server. But I’m unsure what the root cause was in those cases.
Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Can you run multiple servers on one machine (e.g. Raspberry Pi)?byShutUpWesley@piefed.zipEnglish
1 monthI used to have over 20 services running on a Pi4, I wouldn’t suggest running that much, but it’ll work

1 monthAhh, I’m not sure about that, you’d have to check the docs.

1 monthYeah, version tags work fine. All my containers come from compose, and it follows whatever tags I declared there.

1 monthI used to use watchtower. But then it killed a few services that had pre-update instructions, and I learned my lesson.
It just gives me a GUI to see when a service needs an update, and a button to perform it, then I just backup and read the update notes before I do it.

1 monthDefinitely checkout dockhand. It gives a single dashboard for all your hosts. I primarily use it for updating containers and checking logs, but it does quite a bit more. You can even point it towards your compose files and it can edit them in with a GUI, but I haven’t played with that yet.

2 monthsMan, I didn’t even know dockhand had a HA integration, I know what I’m doing when I get home.

2 monthsDropped portainer years ago. Managing some compose files isn’t hard, and Dockhand is better for managing updates

5 monthsWhy buy a wheel, when I can vibe–reinvent the wheel!

In that case, unless you’re willing to plug some excessively shady AliExpress hardware into your system, I’d say something like a comet, JetKVM, or PiKVM is your best bet, and all those will set you back around $100.
