I’m actually kind of happy to see someone make the distinction between the mass effects like that. The controls were definitely better as the series went on, but god ME1 just hits me perfectly, jank and all.

Gears kind of piggybacked off what Re4 did, and steered the third person genre into a cover shooter genre for a while. I’d say the controls are a huge improvement in gears.

That’s pretty much what I’ve been expecting, if not as an outright intention certainly an eventuality.

The original re4 was good enough it basically invented the over the shoulder shooter. It’s a bit of a rough play if you’re not used to the archaic controls, but worth a shot if you’re interested in the history of that sort of thing.

Series X has a pretty accessible Dev mode natively I believe? Or are you just really wanting Linux, which is honestly fair
