Kingdom Come: Deliverance studio co-founder hopes Grand Theft Auto 6 will 'blaze a trail' to higher game prices

I’m sure the oversaturated games market and rise of patient gamers that only buy games many years later at ridiculus discounts proof their point.

But seriously, noone’s stopping them from raising prices, GTA does not matter because all other games are not GTA. Just do the Ubisoft and see for yourself how it feels to barely survive after failing to pull off a AAAA pricing strategy.

I’ve bought exactly one game at full price this year and it sure as hell wasn’t something from a giant game studio. AAA games just aren’t worth the price anymore when smaller studios put out better games at better prices and with better support.

I really hope Rockstar eats shit on this one. I know it will sell millions of copies but it’ll be SO easy to fall short considering the amount of time and money they dumped into its development.

Seriously comments like this are so stupid because even if GTA is about 100 dollars (anyway they’ll be looking to make most of their money on GTA online 2) it wouldn’t “blaze the path™” for anyone, it’s had about 10 years in development and approximately 12,000 people have worked on it. Have you read some of the job titles of people who worked on it, there was an interview with someone who was listed as “the director of particles”, that’s right, dust had its own department.

As much as I think Kingdom Come Deliverance is a good game it’s AA at best, there’s no way they could justify a high retail price.

And I hope he takes a long walk off a short pier. Management is getting more expensive. Unneeded baubles are getting more expensive. Marketing that starts so many multiple years too early the hype dissipates before release is more expensive. Games are still perfectly budgetable. Get the fuck outta here.

Almost every game already priced at $70+ is not worth the price. Charging even more is ridiculous.

Nah, I’m joking. I’ve hated their combat system from the very first time I’ve 🏴‍☠️ their game and uninstalled it soon after. I’ve also never been interested in the GTA franchise from the very first opus on PS1.

What he might have failed to consider is that the customers might not have the capacity to pay more for games. With everything getting more expensive, entertainment is usually the first thing to get the boot.

Well damn, I had a lot of respect for Kingdom Come’s studio.

That can only happen if the whole tech/business world suppresses all the pre-existing games because there is a lot of shit out there we can hop to if prices get too extravagant.

GTA6 can do it because its GTA6. KCD3 is not gonna be on that tier.
